Post course query

by | 3 Jul 2024

I attended your course on Saturday. Nothing seems to be happening with any of my ferments I brought home. No bubbles to speak of and nothing happens when I loosen the lids. The jars are on the kitchen worktop so can’t be too cold I don’t think. Should I just leave everything a little while longer?

    Hi Lesley,
Yes definitely leave it longer, it can take a week or so for the fermentation to start. Just make sure to keep wetting the surface by swirling the jar daily. Should any mould attempt to grow, just remove it carefully.
Although it is July, the weather is really not that hot at the moment…
    All the best 🤗
